Algernon Henry Blackwood was a British author noted for his contribution to horror and supernatural literature.
He initially began his career as a journalist, travelling in Canada and the United States before returning to Europe.
But Blackwood is best known for his tales exploring the paranormal, such as The Willows and The Wendigo, which evoke eerie and mysterious atmospheres.
In addition, throughout his life, he also worked as a radio and television broadcaster and was a member of the Society for Psychical Research, and his experiences with the occult influenced much of his work.
