Anne's House of Dreams

Anne's House of Dreams is a novel by Lucy Maud Montgomery, first published in 1917. It is the fifth book in the Anne of Green Gables series.

After their wedding, Anne Shirley and Gilbert Blythe leave Avonlea for a small house near Four Winds Harbor, where Gilbert begins his medical practice. Their first home together is filled with sea views, new routines, and the excitement of building a shared life.

Anne forms a circle of memorable friends: outspoken Miss Cornelia Bryant, lighthouse keeper Captain Jim, and the beautiful but guarded Leslie Moore. Leslie's painful history and her growing friendship with Anne give the novel a more mature emotional depth than the earlier books.
