Little Men, or Life at Plumfield with Jo's Boys, is a children's novel written by Louisa May Alcott and first published in 1871.
The novel is based on characters who have already appeared in her other play Little Women and is considered the second book in the unofficial trilogy, between Little Women and Jo's Boys.
The book tells us about the life of Plumfield students for six months. It begins with the arrival of the young orphan Nat Blake. Nat is a very shy boy who plays the violin extremely well. Nat is the one who tells the story and introduces the rest of the characters, some already known in Little Women. With him there would already be a total of ten children studying at the school.
The school is not conventional and education is very different. Children can bring their own pets, have their own garden and experience running businesses. It treats the kids as individuals and tries to make them better people.
