The Key to Success is a self-help book written by Russell H. Conwell and originally published in 1917.

The key to success in life is to learn from every detail of life, even from the most insignificant trivialities or aspects. The most influential men gain wisdom in every detail of their environment and that is why they succeed and lead.

The book emphasizes the elements that underlie success, in which Conwell offers a series of essays or reflections on topics that seem like common sense but are worth stopping to think about.

As a negative aspect, the book has not aged well and it is worth noting the negative view of the role of women in the triumph of men, sometimes blaming the failure of men on the fault of their wives. It is necessary to think about the time in which it was written and the social context, today such reflections would be unthinkable.

The book consists of the following chapters:

  • Observation: The Key to Success
  • Who the Real Leaders Are
  • Mastering Natural Forces
  • Whom Mankind Shall Love
  • Need of Orators
  • Woman's Influence
