by Jack London

Adventure is a novel written by Jack London and first published in 1911 by The Macmillan Company.

The main theme of the novel is the domination of one people over others, the differences between different races and the strength of the human spirit in a fight against nature and society.

A man finds himself alone in front of a plantation and confronts black cannibals who are harassing him. Joan Lackland is a bold, independent and liberated feminist woman, and with her arrival at the plantation she will turn everything upside down.

It is a harsh portrait of colonialism and slavery located in the Solomon Islands. There is a lot of controversy surrounding this work because there is no consensus on whether Jack London shared racist beliefs or simply detailed and presented them.
