The Man With Two Left Feet and Other Stories is a collection of 13 short stories written by P. G. Wodehouse and originally published in 1917.
It is a book of lighthearted short stories. In one of them Jeeves, Wodehouse's famous character, appears for the first time.
The book contains the following stories:
Bill the Bloodhound: Although the protagonist is named Henry, Wodehouse nicknamed tough men Bill. It centers on a private detective and a showgirl.
Extricating Young Gussie: Narrates the first appearance of Jeeves, albeit very briefly. The protagonist is Bertie, who deals with his cousin Gussie's love problems.
Wilton's Holiday: Tragedy in which Wodehouse focuses on the aftermath of a sudden death. A strange tale in the author's prose, more characterized in comedy.
The Mixer: An entertaining story told from the point of view of a dog, though his voice is like that of a naive English gentleman.
Crowned Heads: A strange love story aimed at young people.
At Geisenheimer's: Notable for being among the author's few stories narrated by a woman.
The Making of Macs: Narrated by a nightclub waiter.
One Touch of Nature: A story about the conquest of sport featuring a baseball game at London's famous Stamford Bridge stadium.
Black for Luck: A fantasy story in which a cat helps a boy meet a girl.
The Romance of an Ugly Policeman: A love triangle between a policeman, a maid and a milkman.
A Sea of Troubles: An amusing story about a suicidal man and his purpose for staying alive.
The Man with Two Left Feet: This is the title story of the book. In this story, one of the author's best, a man tries to impress his wife by secretly taking dancing lessons.
