The Tale of Mr. Jeremy Fisher is a story written by Beatrix Potter and first published in 1906.

The book tells the story of Jeremy Fisher, a frog who lives in a damp little house on the edge of a pond.

Hoping to catch some fish for a dinner party with his friends, he goes fishing using a water lily as a boat.

But his plans go awry as he faces a series of challenges, including bad weather, persistent insects and a near-fatal encounter with a hungry trout. In the end, Jeremy Fisher emerges unscathed, albeit without his dinner, and decides he would rather stay on land.

"Once upon a time there was a frog called Mr. Jeremy Fisher; he lived in a little damp house amongst the buttercups at the edge of a pond.
The water was all slippy-sloppy in the larder and in the back passage.
But Mr. Jeremy liked getting his feet wet; nobody ever scolded him, and he never caught a cold!"

This book is illustrated with original drawings by Beatrix Potter.
