The Tale Of Squirrel Nutkin is a children's book written by Beatrix Potter and first published in 1903.

In this children's play we will discover the adventure of a mischievous little squirrel named Nutkin and his brother Twinkleberry who, with some squirrel friends, cross a lake to visit an old owl named Old Brown.

This old owl lives on a small island in the middle of the lake, and traditionally the squirrels offer them food as a sign of respect and to ask permission to gather nuts on the island.

What happens is that Nutkin begins to behave in a very provocative way, disrespecting the old man until he loses his patience...

Therefore, in this work the reader will take as a moral lesson the importance of respecting others, combining the wise lessons with the beauty of the natural world typical of the author.

"This is a Tale about a tail—a tail that belonged to a little red squirrel, and his name was Nutkin. He had a brother called Twinkleberry, and a great many cousins: they lived in a wood at the edge of a lake."
