These are the primary sources of the Western esoteric tradition: the grimoires, the hermetic compendia and the Masonic commentaries that everything later quotes, borrows from or argues with.

The Lesser Key of Solomon is the seventeenth-century grimoire that catalogues the seventy-two spirits; it remains the single most downloaded esoteric text on this site. The Kybalion (1908) condenses hermetic philosophy into seven principles. Manly P. Hall wrote The Secret Teachings of All Ages — an encyclopaedia of symbolism, alchemy and mystery religion — before he turned thirty.

They are presented here as historical documents, complete and unabridged, in the public domain in the United States and free in PDF and EPUB.
