The Mystery of the Yellow Room is a mistery novel written by Gaston Leroux and first published in 1907. It is a classic of the detective novels of the early twentieth century.
A murder has been committed in a very peculiar room: the room is locked and there is no trace or evidence of anyone having entered or of the murderer's escape. How then could the crime have occurred?
It is set in the estate of a famous scientist called Chรขteau du Glandier and the murdered is the daughter of this professor, who is found in her own room called the Yellow Room.
The book introduces us to reporter Joseph Rouletabille, an amateur detective with a brilliant mind who will track down the mystery of the room and try to unmask the murderer of this seemingly perfect crime.
"Half an hour later Rouletabille and I were on the platform of the Orleans station, awaiting the departure of the train which was to take us to Epinaysur- Orge. On the platform we found Monsieur de Marquet and his Registrar, who represented the Judicial Court of Corbeil"
