by L. Frank Baum

The Road to Oz is a children's book written by L. Frank Baum and originally published in 1909.

This book continues Dorothy's adventures in the land of Oz. In this new adventure, we are introduced to a series of new characters such as the Shaggy Man, Button Bright and Polychrome, who join Dorothy on her journey to the Emerald City of Oz.

The story begins with the encounter between Dorothy and the Shaggy Man when he passes by the girl's house in Kansas and asks her how to a certain place. Dorothy decides that it is easier to accompany him than to explain it to him, so she decides to go with him.

Will Dorothy Gale be back in time to celebrate Ozma's birthday? Will she be able to return to Kansas? The young girl's story continues in this fifth installment of the series.

""Please, miss," said the shaggy man, "can you tell me the road to Butterfield?" Dorothy looked him over. Yes, he was shaggy, all right, but there was a twinkle in his eye that seemed pleasant. "Oh yes," she replied; "I can tell you. But it isn't this road at all"
