Tik-Tok of Oz is a novel written by L. Frank Baum and first published in 1914. It is the eighth book in the Oz series.
The story follows Queen Ann Soforth of Oogaboo as she sets out to conquer the world with an army of eighteen men.
Along the way she meets Betsy Bobbin, a castaway from Oklahoma, and her mule Hank. They join forces with Tik-Tok, the mechanical man who becomes their faithful companion.
The group ventures into King Nome's domain to rescue the Woolly Man's brother, who is imprisoned in King Nome's underground caverns.
Along the way they face many challenges, meet Polychrome, the Daughter of the Rainbow, and form alliances with familiar Oz characters.
Filled with Baum's signature whimsical adventure and creative wordplay, the novel continues the rich legacy of the magical Land of Oz.
""I won't!" cried Ann; "I won't sweep the floor. It is beneath my dignity."
"Some one must sweep it," replied Ann's younger sister, Salye; "else we shall soon be wading in dust. And you are the eldest, and the head of the family."
"I'm Queen of Oogaboo," said Ann, proudly. "But," she added with a sigh, "my kingdom is the smallest and the poorest in all the Land of Oz.""
