The Hound of the Baskervilles is a novel written by Arthur Conan Doyle and published in installments between 1901 and 1902. The book belongs to the series of stories with Sherlock Holmes as the main character and is one of the author's most famous works.
Sherlock Holmes had been missing since his last novel, in which he falls down a waterfall alongside his archenemy, Dr. Moriarty.
Despite what many people thought, the investigator is alive and has moved to the lonely and desolate region of Dartmoor, where the detective begins an investigation into a large ghost dog that has an evil murder plan. Said dog seems to be the curse that falls on a family.
The novel was published after eight years without publishing anything about Sherlock Holmes, as Conan Doyle needed a break and pursue other projects, which made Sherlock Holmes fans very angry.

A Gothic moor, a family curse, and reason with a lantern. Holmes at his most atmospheric.
This novel pairs superstition with science to show how fear distorts evidence. It’s also an adventure in setting—fog, footprints, and long shadows—perfect for new Holmes readers.
Weather becomes a character.
Facts shrink phantoms.
Trails, traps, and a satisfying reveal.
